Sport
"Mens sana in corpore sano" as the ancients said. I do sports almost 365 days a year (see the summary below) and cannot imagine my life without it. I prefer individual, endurance sports such as marathon running and long-distance (150 km+) cycling. My short-term objective is to run a marathon in less than 3 hours (my best time is 3:17:19 so far). The long-term goal is to complete an Ironman Triathlon one day.

Traveling
I use my bike a lot to explore the area I live in (see the heatmap below). However, it has become quite hard to reach new places and come back home in one day. So I also started traveling by train.

Art
I am a big fan of rock music, especially of extreme genres such as metal, melodic metalcore, posthardcore and deathcore. I am looking forward to the resumption of live concerts in Europe.

I also enjoy reading books and would definitely prefer that to watching movies and series. Lately, I have been reading Russian authors of the "Golden Era".

Last but not least, I love visiting museums (mainly of fine arts) and theatres. Luckily, some places, like the Palais Garnier, allow you to kill two birds with one stone.

Photography
I always try to share my emotions with my family and friends by taking photos of everything I see while traveling (e.g., the panoramic view of Etretat at the top of the page and the Grand Foyer of the Palais Garnier). More pictures can be found on my Instagram page.
Coding
I cannot say that I like coding but it helps me to analyze and visualize data gathered from my Apple Watch and other fitness trackers. For example, the workout summary and the heatmap have been prepared using the Python language.

I also extensively use Matlab to numerically integrate differential equations and solve linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

Finally, I constantly improve my knowledge of LaTeX for better and smarter document preparation.
